Fruitvale Ave. Mini-Park
This is one of the most intriguing parks we’ve visited. We’re not even certain it’s a park within the city’s park system. Let me explain. Before each fairybombing adventure, Melissa and I always go to lunch to fuel up and plan our strategies. One of our favorite places is a Japanese restaurant on Fruitvale called Nama. (The teriyaki chicken is scrumptious.)
We came to notice that just under the 580 freeway from Nama is a tiny park right next to the southbound exit ramp. What makes it particularly wonderful is that it’s chock full of oddly shaped stones. They look like the remains from someone building a sidewalk or planter. Not only that, but they’ve been stacked into all sorts of fantastical towers. It’s a wonderland that looks perfect for fairies to hang out in. So last week we stopped by and provided a bunch of furniture to keep the fairies happy.
